The Sugar Creek Players invite the community to experience “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood,” a lively and laughter-filled production that puts youth and teen performers center stage.

Performances are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday as well as 7 p.m. April 24 and April 25 and 2:30 p.m. April 26. Tickets are available online at https://sugarcreekplayers.thundertix.com/events/255115/.

This isn’t just another retelling of a familiar legend. Instead, it’s a vibrant showcase of young talent — actors who bring energy, creativity, and a fearless sense of fun to every moment. Audiences will quickly notice the ensemble’s commitment, from quick comedic beats to larger-than-life character choices.

At the Vanity Theater, the stage becomes a space for growth as much as performance. For many of these students, this production represents hours of rehearsal and collaboration.  The result? A show that is delightful for audiences of all ages.

Guiding that work is director Nate Baldwin, alongside assistant director Melanie Baldwin and producer Peyton Suiter. Together, they have created an environment where young performers can fully embrace the joy of live theater.

The story itself leans into humor and absurdity, offering just enough of the classic Robin Hood tale to feel familiar while giving this cast room to make it entirely their own. What stands out most, however, isn’t the plot — it’s the performers. Their enthusiasm is contagious, their timing sharp, and their connection to the audience unmistakable.

Whether you’re attending to support a young actor, enjoy a family-friendly outing, or simply spend an evening laughing, this production delivers. It’s lighthearted. It’s fast-paced. And above all, it’s a celebration of youth in the arts.
