Parke Heritage High School students experienced the culture and architecture of Italy and Greece during their spring break. Students visited the main sites of Rome, including the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, Pantheon, The Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. They had a special treat in visiting St, Peter’s in Chains church and saw the Moses statue by Michaelangelo. Next the group visited the island of Capri which included a boat tour around the island, then on to Sorrento and Pompeii to visit the ruins. The tourists bused across to the east coast of Italy and took an overnight ferry to Petras, Greece. After disembarking the ferry it was on to Delphi. In Delphi where they visited the museum and archeological site for the Oracle of Apollo. Their final destination was Athens. There the group visited Acropolis and saw the Parthenon and the new museum, then saw the changing of the guard at the Greek parliament building.
