Deb Lee, an employee of the Family Crisis Shelter, takes a purple ribbon out of a box to hang in Marie Canine Plaza Tuesday, as co-worker Kathy Walker looks on. The shelter tied ribbons throughout downtown in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. While the number of clients in the shelter's residential services has declined this year, the use of some outreach programs has quadrupled during the coronavirus pandemic, executive director Anita Byers says. Advocates are using the month to promote resources available to domestic violence survivors. The shelter's 24-7 hotline is 765-362-2030 or 800-370-4103.
