The donation was to pay to transport the M42 Duster and M110 Howitzer exhibits from a museum in Virginia that closed. Crews completed paving along Wabash Avenue on Saturday morning. The road was opened later that day. The project, which started several months ago, was delayed when it was discovered that the water lines under Wabash Avenue were too shallow and needed to be placed deeper. This meant all water lines to residences had to be redone. Construction crews worked to make the adjustments, but during that time the paving crew had other obligations to fulfill, which delayed completion of the overall project.
