Allen R. Wells passed away from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026.
He was born June 3, 1958, in Indianapolis, to Mr. Charles Lee and LaVerne (Phillips) Wells.
Over the years before his retirement, Allen worked as a mechanic for Humphrey Outdoor Power in Greencastle and Busenbark Lawn Equipment and John Deere, both in Crawfordsville.
He loved fishing, watching NASCAR racing and spending time with family.
He is survived by daughter Jessica Hogan (her partner, Frankie Garcia); son Matthew (Terri) Wells; grandchildren, DJ Wells (his partner, Lexi Ramsay), Jaxon Hogan, Jenna Hogan and Felix Cruz Garcia; two brothers, Marvin G. (Gerri) Wells, Charles J. (Marcia) Wells; sister Joyce M. (Randall) Whybrew; daughter-in-law Stephanie Wells; many nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Chuck Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Derrick Wells; sister Phyllis M. Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Candice Wells; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Robert Ardell; and niece Melissa K. (Ardell) Hansen.
A celebration of life is being tentatively planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Hanna Street Baptist Church, 501 E. Hanna St., Greencastle.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be given to any individual’s choice of charity in Allen’s name.
