ANGELA VICARI
I’m an audiology assistant and office manager at Crawfordsville Audiology. I love working with our community to get help with the struggles of their hearing in everyday life situations. I have worked in other businesses in Montgomery County before finding my place where I felt like I belonged and can help the most.
I reside in Fountain County where I have raised my daughter and spend time with my three granddaughters. I love going to the beach whether it’s cloudy or sunny. Southwest Florida is my home away from home where I love hunting for shark teeth on the gulf beaches.
Watching my granddaughters grow up to become kind individuals is a pure joy and blessing as well. I know some children have it tougher and this is one of the reasons why I have volunteered to help raise money for such an amazing cause. My daughter was in need of one of these services. Through a tough time in her life with her father’s mental issues, the CASA program helped to navigate what was best for her and me and helped us get through to a better healthier relationship for her future.
To name one song that is my favorite would be impossible. I love all kinds of music from mostly every genre. I feel like a song is what speaks to your soul when your soul needs it the most. I do love 70’s and 80’s rock, and definitely love a good slow old school country song to dance to in the kitchen with my soulmate on a Friday night while finishing up the weekend with Amazing Grace on a Sunday morning.
When I was asked to do this event, I was like, sure, why not. I believe we should always step out of our comfort zones in life. You don’t know if you like something unless you’ve tried it. And why not for such a great cause. The Youth Service Bureau has helped support me, and navigate through a tough time and if doing this helps another family in the same way, I’m honored to be able to do it.
Even if you’re not out there donating to me personally, you are out there donating for the cause is what it’s all about. I hope you will all come out and have an amazing time. You’re making sure that the children now and future children have someone to support them in the toughest moments that some will ever go through. These children are our future leaders, why not show them we are all here for them, cheering them on the loudest and hardest.
GEORGIA TAYLOR
I am a dance instructor at Crawfordsville Academy of Dance and a barista at Joshua Cup. I have lived in Montgomery County for 22 years.
I have danced at Crawfordsville Academy of Dance studying ballet, jazz, modern, and tap for 20 years, and have been teaching classes for six years.
My favorite genre of music to dance to is probably alternative. I love dramatic music with powerful beats.
I participate in the YSB fundraiser because I love being able to use my dance background, which started out as a hobby and has turned into a career, to help kids in need in my own community. It is amazing and incredibly humbling how God has gifted me a passion for dance, and put people like Cindy Whittle, Stefanie Deaton and Jane Christophersen to encourage me and help me grow and lead me to this DWTS stage.
This is arguably the most exciting and fun event you can attend annually in our county. You get to dress to the nines, participate in multiple auctions of which the proceeds go to the YSB, be entertained by our Pros and Stars dancing as well as local dance studios, all the while raising money for the kids in our community who are in need of mental health, food and love.
