Area boys track and field teams saw their seasons come to an end Thursday at regionals. A positive was the fact there where good results for individuals and relay teams during the meets.
Crawfordsville and North Montgomery participated at Lafayette Jefferson and Southmont was at Plainfield.
North Montgomery’s day was highlighted by the Chargers’ 4x100 relay team and the 4x800 relay team.
The 4x800 Charger relay team of Drew Dark, Zach Craig, Kale Mitchell and Payson Frazier finished with a time of 8:20.03 which is a school record.
The Charger 4x100 of Dakota Glasson, Eli Peebles, Clayton Brown and Hunter Haworth also set a school record with a time of 43.77 good for ninth place.
Other Charger places were Clayton Brown, long jump (11th, 20’-6”), Eli Peebles, high jump (14th, 5’8”), Drew Dark, 3200m fun (16th, 11:00.27) and Gage Taylor, shot put (16th, 44’-4.25”).
Crawfordsville senior Josh Inskeep placed 10th in 1600m run (4:39.04) and 15th in the 3200m run (10:42.05).
There were a total of 37 teams represented at Lafayette. The regional top four teams were Fishers (74 points), Westfield (69 points), Carmel (61 points) and Hamilton Southeastern along with Noblesville who tied for fourth (57 points).
Southmont had three 16th place finishes. Solomon Mason in 110m hurdles (16.50), Jackson Wireman in high jump (5’10”) and the 4x400 relay team (3.42.33).
