North Montgomery was defeated Tuesday by Monon Athletic Conference rival Frankfort 14-4 in five innings. Charger hurlers gave up nine walks in the game.
Trailing 4-2 after two innings, the Hot Dogs plated nine runs in the bottom of the third inning. Frankfort sent 14 batters to the plate who collected five walks and six hits against three Charger pitchers in the inning.
Crew Cole and Jack Warren each had two hits for North Montgomery.
Starting pitcher Carter Thompson took the loss for the Chargers by giving up six runs in two innings.
North Montgomery (9-3, 4-3 MAC) plays host Wednesday to Frankfort (8-4, 5-2 MAC) and will entertain West Lafayette (3-8) Thursday.
Trojans beat Mustangs
Covington defeated Fountain Central 4-2 in eight innings Tuesday on the Mustang’s diamond. The Trojans scored two runs in their last at-bat to earn the Wabash River Conference win.
The Mustangs led 2-0, with two unearned runs, after four innings but Covington scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Fountain Central was held to one hit in seven innings by Trojan starting hurler Kyven Hill. Kaden Smith pitched the final inning to pick up the save.
Covington (7-4, 5-0 WRC) travels Thursday to Fountain Central (4-8, 4-5 WRC).
