We are currently living in an unprecedented environment of shutdowns and social distancing. However, we must not lose sight of the fact that the world has not stopped turning, and we will soon be voting on important national, state and local candidates who will determine how we are governed for the next several years.
Under the current circumstances it is difficult, if not impossible, for us to personally meet those individuals who have made the decision to run for public offices. We are unable to ask the questions face to face on how they will make the critical decisions that impact our lives and finances. Today we must rely on social media or personal friends who may know something about the candidates.
I am asking you to take a good look at Jake Bohlander as a candidate for Montgomery County Council. He is a young man who is grounded in Montgomery County and wants to participate in creating a positive environment that will make our county a welcoming place for businesses to invest and for people to live and work. I believe we need to give a voice in our government to our younger generation and get them involved now rather than later. I am excited that Bohlander has a passion to serve us in public office and hope that you will make the effort to learn more about him so you can make an informed choice in the upcoming election.
Even if you decide that Bohlander is not the right person for the job, please make certain to exercise your constitutional duty — vote.
