The Indiana Department of Transportation announces nightly lane closures across several counties in West Central Indiana.
Beginning on or after May 21, INDOT contractors will close one lane at a time in both directions of I-74 between the Indiana/Illinois State line and just east of State Road 39 (Exit 58 in Lizton). Vermillion, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, and Hendricks counties will all be impacted.
The purpose of the lane closures is to refurbish pavement markings along the interstate. Work will be limited to 3 miles and one travel lane in each direction, with no work scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend starting at noon on Friday until 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Work hours for this project will be between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.
The project is anticipated to be complete in a two-week timeframe but is weather-dependent and subject to change.
