The annual Veteran Expo will take place Oct. 15 at the Byron Cox American Legion Post 72 in Crawfordsville. The event will be from 8 a.m. to noon.
Veterans Day Parade
Veterans Day is fast approaching! The Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade Coalition is working hard to make this year’s parade a memorable event. The parade will be held at noon Nov. 11. Festivities at the courthouse will begin at noon, followed immediately by the parade along Main Street, as in years past.
If your organization would like to participate, parade entry forms will be available soon. Please watch for updates on where to obtain and return the forms.
New Property Tax Credit for Disabled Veterans
Disabled veterans, please note the new property tax credit is now available. Here’s what you need to know:
• If you have a service-connected disability rated at 100% by the VA or have TDIU status, contact the Veterans Service Officer (VSO) at 765-361-4133; and be verified for the exemption by Dec. 31.
• If you have a service-connected disability rated at 10-90% and have already filed in the past, then there’s no need to file again.
Important Document Reminder
Veterans, your DD-214 is one of the most important documents you have ever earned. The VA recommends you make a copy and keep it in your end-of-life file with your other essential records. This will make things easier for your family if something happens to you.
