Daniel Ray Moore, 76, of Veedersburg passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
He was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Crawfordsville, to the late Charles Maywood and Lucy (Demumbrum) Moore.
Daniel graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1968. On Sept. 21, 1975, he married the love of his life, Mary Jenell Bowman. Throughout his career, Daniel wore many hats. He worked at Olin’s in Covington and served as a Union Business Agent for Unite, but it was in woodworking and woodturning that he truly found his passion. He sold many of his pieces at the Nashville Craft Gallery. Alongside this craft, he indulged his green thumb, growing bountiful vegetables and flowers that he proudly sold at local markets, including the Noblesville Farmers Market. He grew vegetables by the acre and flowers by the truck load. In addition to woodworking and gardening, Daniel had a deep appreciation for photography. He loved capturing life’s moments, from the beauty of his thriving garden to the smiles of family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jenell Moore of Veedersburg; two children, Daniel (Laura) R. Moore Jr. of Crawfordsville and Megan (Jeremiah) Moore Chowning of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren, Cash, Max, Elijah, Jessica, Casey, Samantha, Kelsi, and Charlie; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, David (Shirley) Jolly of Marshall and James (Lana) Moore of Montezuma; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter, Nadeen Dezarn.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S. First St., Kingman, on Friday, Sept. 18 from 11a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
