Jasper G. Cox of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 10, 2023, at IU Health Arnett. He was 70.

Jasper served his country in the Navy on board the U.S.S. Oklahoma City and U.S.S. Jason as a repair tender, primarily stationed in the Far East. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School, class of 1972, and did apprenticeship as a tool and dye maker at IMPEX. He worked at IMPEX and later CSI where he was a tool and dye maker and later promoted to maintenance supervisor.

Born Sept. 9, 1953, at Crawfordsville, he was the son of Jasper E. Cox and Juanita June Holley Cox. He liked going to auctions, going to casinos and loved his cat, Lucy.

Surviving family includes: twin brother, Merlin (Beth) Cox of New Market; three sisters, Cyndi (Kent) Gambrel and Cathy (Rick) Hocking, both of Crawfordsville, and Candy (Steve) Feltner of Florida; and many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention, along with great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was chosen with graveside services at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
