Knights of Columbus Council #1591 presented a donation of $9,006.50 to the Montgomery-Parke County Special Olympics on Wednesday. The funds will go toward the annual summer games, to which the county delegates around 100 athletes each year. “There is no cost for any athlete or volunteer that goes with the county. ... We pay for it, and this is one of the main reasons we can do that,” said county coordinator Michelle Goodin. This year's donation is a piece of over $350,000 that KoC #1591 has given to Montgomery-Parke Special Olympics since 1978.
