Photo Provided Members of the Parke Heritage High School Jobs for America’s Graduate (JAG) class competed in the District Contest on Jan. 26 at Ivy Tech in Terre Haute. Lorelei Osterhoudt placed third in public speaking. Also participating in the contest were Will Patton, career presentation; Cade Mabry, Creative Solutions; Matthew Owens, Critical Thinking; Avery Myers, Critical Thinking; Cadence Studebaker, Critical Thinking; Kenadie Cooper-Arizmendi, Writing Skills; Brenna Mager, Writing Skills; Natalie Alexander, Digital Design; and Brad Ratcliff, Outstanding Senior. The contest is a chance for JAG students to practice what they have learned, network with other JAG students from the region as well as meet employers in the area. The JAG program is a state-based, national non-profit organization dedicated to helping high school students achieve success through graduation. Kimberly Snodgrass is the instructor of this program. The Parke Heritage Middle School cheerleaders attended cheer camp at Indiana State University on Feb. 24. The group learned two chants and a dance during the camp time. They performed these chants during halftime of the ISU boys basketball game in front of a packed crowd cheering on the Sycamores. Cheering were front row, Lexi Mundell and Bryleigh Lamb; and back row, Haileigh Antrim, Brooklynn McMullen, Addi Ramey, Anna Tidwell and Emmylou Rader. Also attending the camp were Bayleigh Wallace, Taylor Snell and Avrie Hetrick.

The Parke Heritage High School Dance Team achieved an outstanding victory at the state finals held at Farmers Coliseum on March 3. By securing first place in both the Pom and Jazz categories, they were crowned state champions. Their dedication, skill, and teamwork were showcased through their exceptional performances, earning them well-deserved recognition and praise. Team members are Marlee Jeffers, Maura Jacks, Donatella Mudica, Makayla Ricketts, Abbie Lash and Olivia Lear. They are coached by Amanda Games and Courtney Lash.
