Carolyn Sue Emberton Geralds, 83, formerly of New Richmond, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, in Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.
She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late William and Savanah Crabtree Emberton. She married James Andrew Geralds on Jan. 10, 1959, in Salina, Tennessee. He preceded her in death Sept. 24, 2012.
Carolyn attended Bowman School in Monroe County Kentucky. Following their marriage, Carolyn and Jim moved to New Richmond in 1959. Carolyn had worked as a production assistant at Ag Alumni Seed Co. in Romney, Fleetwood Travel Trailer and had provided child care in her home. She was a member of the former Christian Church in New Richmond.
She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her greatest love was family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the changing seasons and decorating for each holiday.
Surviving are six daughters, Susie (JT) Abbott of Crawfordsville, Brenda Spencer of Crawfordsville, Betty Geralds of Crawfordsville, Bonnie Monts of Crawfordsville, Beverly Roberts (Patrick) of Magnum, Oklahoma and Belinda Geralds of Geneva, Indiana; two sons, Jamie (Julie) Geralds of Clearwater, Florida, and Mike (April) Geralds of Magnum, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and four brothers.
Carolyn’s family will receive guests 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate and one hour prior to funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at the funeral home with Chris Lewellen, Willi and Mike Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in New Richmond Cemetery.
