Catherine May Butler passed away at Union Hospital in Terre Haute on Aug. 2, 2026. She was 56.
Born in Crawfordsville, on Oct. 30, 1969, she was the daughter of Chester and Roberta LaFollette Caldwell. In August of 1989 she married Lawrence “Larry” Butler. He survives. Catherine’s most proud accomplishments are her children in which she was able to be a stay-at-home mom.
Catherine is survived by her husband; children, Tiffany Chavez, Nathanial Butler, Destiny Butler and Brian Hopkins; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Jacklyn Joiner and Barb Skaggs; brother Donnie Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Lawrence Butler; sister Annie Bennett; and brother Bud Endicott.
A memorial visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Service will follow visitation at 5 p.m.
