It is with great sadness that we, the children of Fran Elmore, announce his passing just a few weeks after celebrating his 90th birthday on May 28.
Fran lived a long, full life and wore many hats throughout his years — son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, father-in-law, coworker, and friend. Above all else, however, he was a devoted child of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna (Churchill) Elmore and Bill Elmore; his siblings, Robert, Ted, Tommy, Byron, and Sharon Elmore; his beloved wife, Imogene (Hyde) Elmore; and his sons, Eric and Chuck Elmore.
He leaves behind a loving family who will gather to celebrate his life and legacy, including his brother, Tim (Denise) Elmore; his sisters, Lavinia and Janice; his children, Vicke (Neal), Becky (Alvin), Marquita, and Scott (Kim); his daughters-in-law, Glenda (Eric), and Rene (Chuck); as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and many others whose lives he touched.
A Homegoing Celebration honoring Fran’s life will be held on June 14 at 4 p.m. at Bethel AME Church in Crawfordsville. During this service, we will also celebrate the life and Homegoing of our dear brother, father, husband, and friend, Chuck Elmore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Bethel AME Church, 213 W. North St., Crawfordsville, IN 47933, in care of Marva Davis.
Fran’s faith, love, and dedication to family and friends will be remembered always. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
