Gary Michael Whitecotton, 55, of Indianapolis passed away Sept. 22, 2026, at Wyndmoor Assisted Living in Terre Haute.
He was born Aug. 26, 1971, in Crawfordsville, to the late Max Leon and Janet Sue (Keys) Whitecotton.
Gary graduated from Southmont High School, Class of 1990. He was a gentle soul and will be missed by many. Gary was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on IU Hoosiers and Indiana Fever. He also enjoyed making cards and was known for being quite the talker.
Gary will be deeply missed by his sister, Lisa (John) Richter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin Whitecotton.
A memorial service will be held for Gary at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 2 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery.
