Gloria G. Raw, 91, previously of Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully May 21, 2026.

She was born in 1935 in Wallace to Fred and Josephine Cooper.

Gloria loved music and dancing throughout her life. She played the bell lyre and was a baton twirler in her HS marching band. She met her first husband, Wesley Maxwell, at a family picnic where she impressed him with her skill in target practice. They married in 1952 while he was on leave from the Navy. Later, she joined him in Norfolk, Virginia and then in San Diego, California where they took advantage of the local tourist attractions. She loved to travel and visited all 50 of the states. She was a stay-at-home mom, sold real estate, taught preschool, served on the Crawfordsville PTA and City Council. She was a member of her local Baptist church.

She later married Ed Raw of Rothsay, Minnesota. She lived in Minnesota for a short time, but returned to Indiana to be closer to family.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, her oldest son, W. Kevin Maxwell, and half-brothers, Larry Clore and Terry Clore.

She is survived by daughter Pamela A. Gash of Rochester, Minnesota, Brad Maxwell and wife Angela of Holliston, Massachusetts and Brent S. Maxwell and wife Anita of Avon. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by half-brothers, Fred Clore of Crawfordsville and John Clore of Wallace; and half-sister Brenda Baum McDaniel of Illinois.

Interment will be at the Waynetown Cemetery during a private family gathering.
