James “Jim” Laube passed away April 9, 2026, at IU Health Arnett, he was 84.
He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Williamsport, to Leopold F. and Ruth Ferling Laube. He worked 45 years at RR Donnelly as a forklift driver before retiring in 2007. On July 20, 1962, he married Carolyn Stewart. She passed April 28, 2024.
Jim enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and mowing his yard. He loved giving everyone a hard time and going on vacations.
Jim is survived by sons, Scott (Gloria) Laube, Mark (Teresa) Laube, Todd (Janelle) Laube and Kevin (Cynthia) Laube; grandchildren, Cody, Brian (Natalee), Luke (Bethany), Aubrey, Alayna and Rebecca; great-grandson Carson; sister-in-law Ethelrae Busick; nephew Steve; and niece Kathy.
He was preceded in death by wife Carolyn; his parents; son Stewart Laube; daughter-in-law Mary Laube; and brother Bill Laube.
Visitation for Jim will be at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville, on Friday, April 17, from noon to 2 p.m., with service starting at 2 p.m. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
