John William Presslor, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at home surrounded by his family following a short illness. John was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Crawfordsville, to the late Edwin and Lillian (Moore) Presslor.

On Nov. 7, 1971, he married Lana Lieske at Russellville Christian Church. Together they shared 54 years of marriage.

John was a 1968 graduate of Waveland High School. Following graduation, he attended Carpenter’s School and later Airline School. He was a member of Russellville Community Church and the Sons of the American Legion. John was employed at Crawford Industries, where he retired after 44 years of dedicated service. In addition to working full-time, he built the home he and Lana shared and also built four additional homes.

In his younger years, John enjoyed playing the banjo and golfing. He also played baseball and bowled for Crawford Industries. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and IU basketball. One of the highlights of his life was being able to attend a New York Yankees game, which brought him great joy.

John also appreciated the simpler things in life. He loved watching his sons grow up and being able to teach them carpentry skills that he had learned from his father and from his education. The grandchildren were an extra bonus in his life and he loved them dearly.

He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, reminiscing about fun times and sharing stories from his years at Crawford Industries and Brad’s Thursday get-togethers at the farm. Above all, John was a devoted son, husband, father and “Grampy.”

John is survived by his loving wife, Lana Presslor; sons, Joe Presslor, Brandon (Andrea) Presslor and Darrin (Sarah) Presslor; sister Carol (Rodney) Coffman; brother-in-law Fred (Patty) Lieske; sisters-in-law, Karen (Brad) McCloud, Charlene (Rick) Carrington and Luann (Brian) Starnes; grandchildren, Cameron (Zoie Vandevender) Presslor, Natalie Presslor (Gage Catron), Emily Presslor (Dylan Kennedy), Poole Presslor, Jensen Presslor and Amelia Presslor; great-granddaughter Lillian Presslor; cousins, Beverly, Judy, Sue, Nancy of Kansas and Betty and Phil of Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Linda Reed; brothers-in-law, John Lieske and Brad Lieske; sister-in-law M. Cheryl Lieske; and his father- and mother-in-law, Harold and Flossie Hanks Lieske.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Servies Funeral and Cremation Services, 301 E. Green St. Waveland. Burial will follow in Blakesburg Cemetery in Fincastle. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time also at the funeral home.
