Larry G. Burnett Sr., formerly of Ladoga, passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, in Billings, Montana.

Born Sept. 16, 1939, and raised in Ladoga, Larry was the son of Harry and Helen Burnett, who owned and operated Burnett’s Red and White Grocery. He excelled in athletics during high school and, following graduation, proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

After his military service, Larry returned home to Ladoga, where he assumed ownership and operation of the family grocery store. He was a devoted sports enthusiast throughout his life. He especially enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500, a tradition he maintained for many years. A passionate supporter of Indiana University basketball and professional sports, Larry was a longtime season ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indiana Fever.

Larry was deeply committed to his community and dedicated countless hours to civic service. He played an instrumental role in revitalizing The Old Normal Hall, was actively involved with the Ladoga Public Library, called bingo for the Ladoga Lions Club for more than 50 years, served on the Ladoga Township Board, and contributed in many other meaningful ways to the community he loved.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry Burnett Jr. (Cheryl); his daughter, Dianna Yerger (Russ); his cousin, Cindy Crain; and their families.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Ladoga Cemetery. Servies Funeral and Cremation Services, Ladoga, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
