Leslie Arthur Dove, 89, of Ladoga passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, in his rural Ladoga home.
Leslie was born Nov. 22, 1936 in Grange Corner, to the late Cecil A. and Naomi A. (Newell) Dove.
He married Maxine Burnside on Aug. 20, 1955. They shared 54 years of marriage prior to her passing on Nov. 24, 2009.
He was father to Melinda (Keith) Rhoads, Barry (Elena) Dove and Brent Dove. He was very proud of his nine grandchildren, Jay (Sarah) Rhoads, Karl (Adrianna) Rhoads, Carrie (Seth) Edwards, Eric (Sarah) Rhoads, Wade (Katie) Dove, Abby (Tim) Melvin, Scott (Shawnacee) Dove, Alexandra (Matt) Criswell and Ethan (Alyssa) Dove. He had 19 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of New Market High School Class of 1955 and a member of New Market Baptist Church.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Naomi Dove; wife Maxine Dove; as well as three sisters, Patty Busenbark, Thena Beasley and Kay DeBusk.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Servies Funeral and Cremation Services, 203 N. Washington St., Ladoga. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ladoga Cemetery.
