Lilly Joy Herzog Alexander, 79, of Rockville passed away Sept. 14, 2026, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice in Terre Haute.

Born May 8, 1947, she was the daughter of Gale C. McIntyre and Lillie Ebert McIntyre. She married Richard A. Herzog on May 19, 1967, in Rosedale. He died March 21, 1993. She married the Rev. G. Wayne Alexander on Oct. 18, 1996. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 2021.

Joy graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1965. She previously worked at Dormeyer Industries in Rockville and in the cafeteria for Southwest Parke Schools.

Joy was a member of the Nyesville Full Gospel Church, the Church of God in Rockville, the First Assembly of God Church in Rockville, and the First Assembly of God Church in Crawfordsville. Her memberships also included Women’s Ministry, Friendship Club in Parke County, Senior Citizens of Rockville, and the Parke County Bell Choir.

She was an excellent pianist and played at the churches that she attended. She was also a professional cake decorator, enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting and embroidering. Joy loved to play board games and card games with her family and especially loved eating ice cream.

Joy is survived by four children, Trina Herzog of Indianapolis, Lisa Herzog of Rockville, R. Darin Herzog (Sabrina) of Frankfort and Kelly Wingate (Dustin) of Crawfordsville; step-son Paul Alexander of Farmersburg; six grandchildren, Kaesyn Green (Payton) of Warsaw, R. Brycin Herzog (Emma) of Spencer, Kierstyn Herzog of Frankfort, Brooklyn Herzog of Frankfort, Klaytin Wingate of Crawfordsville and Daltin Wingate of Crawfordsville. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Shaelyn Herzog, Torren Green, Maelee Herzog and R. Max Herzog; and her brother, Gale “Rusty” McIntyre.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard A Herzog; husband Rev. G. Wayne Alexander; brother Rev. Curtis O. McIntyre; sisters-in-law, Jane McIntyre and Pauline McIntyre; and nephew Douglas McIntyre.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Faithbridge Assembly of God, 541 W. U.S. Highway 36, Rockville, with the Rev. Gene Walls officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to the start of her service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Care entrusted to Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville.
