Marcia Lynn Knee, 79, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, sleeping peacefully, after a long fight with COPD.
She was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Crawfordsville, to Clarence and Katherine (McCarthy) Stout. Marcia was a caretaker and homemaker. She had a few jobs over the years, but none more important to her than taking care of those around her. She was devoted to the service of others throughout her life.
On Sept. 24, 1966, she married Charles W. Knee Sr. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1992.
Marcia is survived by brother-in-law Frank Barr; children, Michael (Kimberly) Knee, Cheryl (Ritchie Sr.) Jones and Martoma (Chris) Wilson and bonus daughter, Teresa Billingsly, all of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Asher (Brittany) Demoret, Tristin (Emily), Darien, Aidan (Brooklynn) and Grace Knee, Ritchie Jr. and Daver Jones and Dea (Jonathon) Hayden, Amy Shelton, Gregory and Chelsea Roth; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcia was an avid fisherwoman and outdoorswoman. She loved to craft and make things with wood. She loved a campfire, especially beside her beloved Sugar Creek. She enjoyed camping and fishing, she loved horseback riding, and even the occasional motorcycle ride with her son.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck; son Charles Knee Jr.; sisters, Sherry and Janet; brothers, Tom and Kevin; and her parents. She now rests in Glory with her family!
Visitation is scheduled from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., with Dave Hunter officiating. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
