Marco Antonio Diaz, 23, of Waveland passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Marco was born Jan. 19, 2003, in Lafayette, to Jorge V. Diaz and Eleisha T. (Nelson) Diaz.
He was a 2021 graduate of Southmont High School and went on to attend U.T.I. Vocational College in Chicago, where he earned his certification in mechanics.
He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Crawfordsville. Marco worked at Sparks Commercial Tire in Greencastle as a heavy equipment mechanic. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing, and enjoyed restoring cars. He also participated in bull riding at the Crawfordsville Rodeo.
He is survived by his parents, Jorge V. and Eleisha T. Diaz; his siblings, Anthony Nelson, Rosalinda Perez, Jorge V. Diaz Jr., Miguel Diaz, Dominic Diaz and Edward Diaz; his grandparents, Russell and Therese Nelson, Marco Antonio Diaz and Maria Therese Valdez. Along with his aunts and uncles Fernando Huesca, Yolanda, Russ and Margaret Nelson and family, Angel and Jon Heck and family along with many cousins.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., Crawfordsville. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time also at the church. Servies Funeral and Cremation Services, Waveland, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
