Ruthanna Ball, 94 of Katy, Texas passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Ball and daughter, Susan Baugh.
Ruthanna was born in 1932 on her family homestead outside of Ladoga, the same home site where her family lived and farmed for over 100 years. When Ruthanna was young the farm house had no plumbing or electricity. She remembered helping to pull electrical wiresthrough the walls to electrify the house because she was the youngest and had the smallest hands. Ruthanna met Floyd at school and became life long sweethearts. She and Floyd had four children, Steve, Ben, Susan and Jeff. Ruthanna did an amazing job of raising four children and running the household. Ruthanna and Floyd were very blessed to have had many grandchildrenand great grandchildren.
Floyd had just joined the Navy when they got married and immediately began the first of many relocations necessitated by Floyd’s military service and work. When they were ready to settle down and enjoy their golden years, they chose to live in New Braunfels, Texas. During retirement they were again on the move, visiting family, RVing all over the country, crisscrossing Europe on tours and cruising through the Caribbean. Ruthanna and Floyd were married for 72 years.
The family is planning a joint celebration of life for Ruthanna and Floyd in Ladoga sometime in late spring of 2027. Ruthanna and Floyd will be interred together in the Ladoga Cemetery with other family members.
