Sandy Jones, 67, of Crawfordsville was called to heaven on Sept. 3, 2026.
Born on Oct. 14, 1958, Sandy was a graduate of Southmont High School, Class of 1977. She grew up on a farm and remained a country girl at heart her entire life. Sandy worked for 21 years at Fleetwood Travel Trailers and later spent seven years at Wal-Mart Optical. She retired in 2003 to care for her mother, a role she embraced.
Sandy loved her family and friends deeply and was especially proud of her grandchildren, “Nadia Girl” and “Jake Man,” as she affectionately called him. She found joy in the simple things: cutting the grass, tending to her plants, gathering around a bonfire, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Piper, Coco, and Lacie. A strong and independent woman, Sandy continued to take care of herself with quiet determination even in the months before she passed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Joanne Smith, and her sister, Linda Garver.
Sandy is survived by her son, Jason Jones; daughter-in-law, Annette Jones; granddaughter, Nadia Jones; and grandson, Jacob Jones.
A casual celebration of Sandy’s life will be held 4-8 p.m. Nov. 25 at Stone Creek Lodge, 2865 S. State Road 47, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. The gathering will include food and music as we honor the life she lived.
